Edgy Ethics provides training and education in professional ethics for helping professionals.

Being able to critically examine the assumption, values, and theories that inform Codes of Ethics and how we think about ethical practice is an important aspect of ethical decision-making. Context and relationship matter. Learning about complementary ethical approaches that centre relationship enriches ethical practice.

About Dr. Karma Guindon, MSW, PHD, RSW, CCFT

Karma is a registered social worker and certified marriage & family therapist, and has been in practice for over 20 years. She uses a systemic and integrative approach to practice that is largely informed by postmodern principles. She presently teaches and works in private practice providing couple and family therapy, and individual therapy to children, adolescents and adults.

Karma has a PhD in Social Work. Her dissertation research: 1) critically explored the implications of current ecological contexts for social work assumptions, values, principles, and practices; and 2) points to ways the CASW (2005) Code of Ethics can be expanded to support social workers' ethical decision-making in the context of so much ecological change. She has her Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Social Work degree, both from the University of Toronto.

Karma has extensive teaching experience at the college, university, and professional development level. She regularly presents at national and international conferences, and is a published author.
